Volvo has officially launched the upgraded version of its XC90 SUV, featuring a range of updates to its exterior design and interior equipment, promising a fresh experience for users.
On the exterior, the Volvo XC90 sports a revamped look with a redesigned grille. Instead of the vertical bars seen in previous models, the new grille features a crisscross pattern, adding a modern and unique touch to the SUV’s front. The signature headlights and LED daytime running lights retain Volvo’s distinctive design, but bring a renewed feel to the seven-seat SUV.
The front bumper of the XC90 has also been refreshed. The central air intake now protrudes slightly, giving the vehicle a more aggressive stance, while the side air intakes are vertically aligned, replacing the horizontal layout of the previous version. The taillights retain their original design, and the bodywork remains largely unchanged.
Inside, the 2025 XC90’s cabin sees several upgrades. The central display has been enlarged from 9 inches to 11.2 inches, with a 21% increase in pixel density for enhanced clarity. The screen is integrated with more shortcut keys, making it easier to control various functions. Surrounding the display are vertical air vents and physical controls for audio and the front/rear defrosters.
The center console of the XC90 is fitted with a crystal gear shifter, along with key controls like the Start/Stop button, electronic parking brake, Auto Hold, wireless charging pad, and cupholders. Additionally, the 2025 XC90’s cabin has been enhanced with extra soundproofing layers, ensuring a quieter interior environment.
In terms of performance, Volvo has yet to release full engine details, but the plug-in hybrid version of the XC90 is expected to offer an electric-only range of about 69 kilometers, with a combined driving range of up to 800 kilometers under the WLTP standard. Additionally, the B5 and B6 mild-hybrid versions are anticipated to be available, although specific technical specifications remain undisclosed.
According to Motor1, Volvo has begun accepting orders for the 2025 XC90, with production set to begin by the end of the year, ensuring timely deliveries.
