Samsung introduces Google Cloud-powered Galaxy AI
At today’s Unpacked presentation, Samsung introduced its Galaxy AI service on the Galaxy S24 smartphones and promoted it as a selling factor. Google Cloud powers the new technology, the business said.
The first partner to cloud-deploy Gemini Pro and Imagen 2 on Vertex AI to smartphones is the Korean business.
Gemini can interpret, act on, and mix text, code, photos, and video. These capabilities will help native programs like Notes, Voice Recorded, and Keyboard improve. The press statement noted that Gemini Pro will offer security, safety, privacy, and data compliance.
Samsung Corporate EVP and Head of Software Office of Mobile eXperience Business Janghyun Yoon stated his team is “thrilled” that the Galaxy S24 series is the first featuring Gemini Pro.
Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian said Samsung developers could leverage the platform’s “world-class infrastructure, cutting-edge performance, and flexibility” to bring generative AI to Samsung consumers.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 will ship with Android 14, which includes Gemini Nano, an LLM. Pixel 8 Pro users know the function repairs shaky videos, enhances night pictures, and gives smart message answers.
