The coaching staff of AS Roma, including Jose Mourinho, have announced their imminent departure from the club via its website.
The proprietor of the “Giallorossi,” Dan Friedkin, also conveyed gratitude to Mourinho: “I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to Mourinho on behalf of all the members of AS Roma for his invaluable contributions and ceaseless enthusiasm for the club ever since his induction.”

“We shall perpetually hold fond memories of Mourinho during his tenure as the club’s head coach.” Nevertheless, it is my conviction that an urgent change in leadership is imperative for the benefit of AS Roma. “For his future, I extend my sincerest wishes to Mourinho,” Friedkin continued.
Roma expeditiously abandoned Mourinho following the 1-3 defeat at the hands of AC Milan. The Olimpico host team is currently ranked ninth with 29 points, five points adrift of the qualifying group for the Champions League.
Mourinho began his tenure with Roma in 2021. He immediately contributed to the club’s historic first European championship victory, which followed a Conference League final victory over Feyenoord in Tirana. “The Special One” proceeded to guide the club to the Europa League final the following season, a competition one level above the Conference League. Nevertheless, Sevilla defeated the Serie A representative on account of contentious refereeing decisions.
Mourinho lost vital striker Tammy Abraham to injury for the 2023–24 season, but he still assembled a formidable squad that included Romelu Lukaku and Sadar Azmoun, among others. Nevertheless, his squad has been performing erratically, and Mourinho has been in constant dispute with Italian referees. The strategist was issued two red cards in his previous two contests, one in Serie A and one in the National Cup.
Mourinho’s coaching tenure is distinguished by an extraordinary statistic. More precisely, his coaching experience does not exceed three seasons. His longest tenure at a club was during the first division with Chelsea, which lasted for approximately three seasons, from June 2004 to September 2007.
Prior to that, he completed his third season under the employment of Tottenham, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Real Madrid all without success. Inter was the only organization where “The Special One” did not perform admirably; he resigned in 2010 following two seasons as captain of the blue and black striped team.
