Jose Mourinho was spotted in Barcelona just days after being fired by AS Roma.
When approached by a reporter from El ChiringuitoTV and asked about the possibility of coaching Barca, Mourinho simply smiled and walked away coldly. The Portuguese strategist also did not answer any questions.
Previously, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Mourinho would not be coaching Al-Shabab FC in Saudi Arabia. Along with the presence of “The Special One” (Mourinho’s nickname) in Barcelona, this sparked rumors that he could take on the role of Barca captain, replacing Xavi Hernandez – who is under a lot of pressure because of the club’s poor performance record.
In the past, Mourinho worked with Sir Bobby Robson and Louis van Gaal at Barca. The 60-year-old strategist is currently seen as one of the candidates for the team’s coaching seat, if the club sacks Xavi.
Even though Mourinho had a time coaching Real Madrid – Barca’s archrivals, the possibility of him switching to Catalonia to work is entirely feasible.
After being fired by AS Roma, Mourinho still has no job offer. He received many invitations from all over the world, but the Portuguese manager has not nodded or shown interest in any side.
