Elon Musk is always on the go since he runs five firms at the same time, having flown 441 times in the last year.
According to flight tracking website JetSpy, from January 1 to December 14, technology billionaire Elon Musk primarily used two aircraft under his name worth more than $100 million USD, including the registered Gulfstream G650ER with code N628TS and the Gulfstream G550 with code N272BG. Both made 441 trips, an average of more than 1.2 each day, primarily between Texas and California, where Musk’s firms are based. He “lived in the sky” for 48 days, clocking over 1,161 hours.

Musk acquired the G650ER in 2016 and it has a great range, allowing him to fly around 14,000 kilometers nonstop. Inside, there is a spacious cabin, a multi-purpose area, and a bedroom. The average flying duration for the two planes is more than 2.5 hours. The longest voyage was from Texas to Tokyo, which took more over 13 hours. The shortest travel is around 11-15 minutes between the Hawthorne and Los Angeles airports, which are less than 20 kilometers away.
In addition, a second Gulfstream G550 with registration code N502SX was found to be transporting Musk but registered in Tesla’s name. This plane flew for around 630 hours, on 246 flights, primarily transporting corporate personnel, therefore it is not included in Musk’s total flight time.
Musk is reportedly claimed to have ordered two freshly released Gulfstream G700s, as well as a Dassault Falcon 900B that has yet to be flown.
According to JetSpy, Elon Musk‘s planes release around 5,159 tons of CO2 this year, which is far greater than the American average of 16 tons. They used more than two million gallons of fuel, equivalent to 3.2 million USD.
This year, Musk’s flight time is less than previous year. According to 2022 figures, he flew 739 times, totaling 1,865 flying hours.
