Hannibal Mejbri was suspended indefinitely after fighting with a Sevilla teammate.
Mundo Deportivo reported that Mejbri was demoted from Sevilla’s first squad after an altercation with Mariano Diaz. This is also why Mejbri was not registered for the January 25 match against Atletico Madrid.

The Tunisian midfielder will miss Sevilla’s match against Osasuna on January 29.
Regarding the event, Sevilla coach Quique Sanchez Flores said: “Hannibal must know himself. We spoke to him and think Hannibal needs more time to learn. We’ll let him think. Then, the club will decide if Hannibal may return to the main team.”
Manchester United loaned Mejbri to Sevilla on January 15. His contract extends through 2023/24. Mejbri’s skill impresses coach Erik ten Hag, who wants him to play consistently at his new club to gain experience before returning to MU.
Mejbri has played 29 minutes in La Liga and been yellow carded. After a controversy, he was suspended from Sevilla’s first team. The 2003-born player might return to MU before his loan contract finishes in the worst situation.
